The was disclosed by ASUU via its Twitter handle on Friday after its meeting with the Federal Government’s team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.

It tweeted, “The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has shifted ground on FG’s offer. The Union insisted that payment of outstanding salaries must not be done as through the IPPIS platform as promised, if strike would be suspended.”

ASUU does not have an official Twitter account and do not run any social media page be it Facebook, Instagram etc. The initiator of such twitter page or account has a malicious intent to mislead the public. Take Note. ASUU does not have any known Twitter account or social media handle for now and infact, the Union has addressed this several times. Do your home work well next time

14 years in journalism and you write this nonsense? Are you genuinely disinformed? Don’t know how to understand stories properly? Confused? Or this is just for click bait?

With your 14 years experience Mr Aguila, you don’t know that Assu actually doesn’t have an official twitter handle. I’m a bit disappointed

How do I report this liar to Google?

Nairameteics do a proper research. ASUU doesn’t have any social media accounts. This twitter page is a fake account and ASUU has said that several times.ASUU will always announce the suspension of any strike through a press conference and not on twitter. There’s still another meeting between the FG and ASUU as ASUU asked to return to it’s executives for a decision. The strike hasn’t been called off. Na only una dey share this fatal fake news.

    This is not correct.
ASUU has not called off the strike.
The twitter you got the information from is not even same with what you wrote.
And the ASUU chairman said last week that they don’t have a twitter account!

That Twitter account is not ASUU’s official handle. According to Prof. Ogunyemi, ASUU has no official Twitter handle yet.

Dear Abiola, 14 years of journalism is a joke if you can’t report fact. It’s really shameful.

What’s difference between agreed to call off and called off?

The ASUU that I know does not have a tweeter handle. This news is both fake and mischievous. ASUU does not suspend strike through the media but in Congress.

I used to think Nairametrics is a highly specialized, professional medium. Never knew it parades “journalists” who are misinformed and quackery-inclined. This story is misleading and you should pull it down and apologize to the reading public. ASUU does not have a Twitter handle or any other social media platforms and this has been sufficiently addresses by the Union. This writer should therefore go back to Journalism school. His 14 years “experience” require some calibration.
