Dr. Kale revealed this during a high-level dialogue on “Data bond and supply responsibility framework for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the sub-national level.”

Representing Dr. Kale was Mr. Adeyemi Adeniran, Director, Real Sector and Household Statistics, who opined that a sound statistical system would help in producing timely and reliable data for the government to plan and design its programmes.

Why this matters

In this era, statistics and information technology makes planning much easier, right from the sub-national level to the national level. Therefore, to achieve the SDGs, just like every other goal, the place of accurate and timely data cannot be ruled out.

Kale further charged all producers of statistics at both the national and sub-national levels to embrace the spirit of collaboration and cooperation in statistics production.
