Presidency denies canceling memos, appointments approved by Abba Kyari

The Presidency has cleared the air on the allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari had canceled appointments and memos approved by the former Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
According to the Presidency, President Buhari has not directed his new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, to cancel all appointments and about 150 memos that were approved by the late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, without his permission.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, through a tweet post on his official Twitter handle.

The presidential aide, while stating that nothing of such happened, asked Nigerians to ignore such reports as they were quoted by unnamed sources.

Garba, in his statement, said, “The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to media reports alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari has canceled a number of memos and appointments signed off by his former chief of staff. Not surprising, these reports have quoted unnamed sources. There is not a grain of truth in these reports and Nigerians should please ignore the insinuations behind them.”

Going further, he said, “President Buhari was duly re-elected by Nigerians in February 2019. He has not and will never cede to anyone else, that power and trust given to him by the Nigerian people.”

This denial has still not adequately addressed insinuations that there have been growing cases of disagreements and conflicts amongst some top officials in this administration.
