Mixed reactions trail the death of chief of staff to the president

Nigerians were informed of the death of the Chief of Staff to the president, Mallam Abba Kyari on Friday, April 17, 2020 as a result of the coronavirus disease he contracted during his official trip to Germany.

Nigerians were informed of the death of the Chief of Staff to the president, Mallam Abba Kyari on Friday, April 17, 2020, as a result of the coronavirus disease he contracted during his official trip to Germany. 

Following the announcement of his death, Nigerians have expressed some mixed reactions over his death which was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina. 

While some Nigerians expressed grief and condolence over his death, others from their tweet post, tend to mock the former Chief of Staff over his death.

The Executive Secretary NEITI, Waziri Adio described Kyari as a deeply human, cerebral and loyal personality and not the wrong impression that was widely sold. 

 

The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari, referred to him as a good man and asked God to forgive him. 

The controversial Senator, Dino Melaye, who sounded philosophical, said that everyone should be prepared for this someday. 

The national publicity secretary of the opposition party, PDP. Kola Ologbondiyan, asked Allah to forgive him all his shortcomings. 

Senator Shehu Sani in his reaction, said that the president has lost a trusted and very loyal friend who will be missed. 

Femi Fani-Kayode, who is one of the biggest critics of this government expressed sadness at the loss of a friend of 40 years. He described him as a good and honorable man. 

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, expressed grief over his death and asked Allah to comfort his family and forgive him his sins. 

One of the presidential aides, Bashir Ahmed, in his reaction, described him as one of the most misunderstood people in the history of Nigeria. He described him as a good man who sacrificed his life for the country. 

A twitter user whose reaction was quite interesting said that he is saddened by the death of Abba Kyari. He said that until his encounter with him, he was one of the government officials he used to abuse the mostHe narrated the encounter and how they have been in contact until he contracted coronavirus. 

Another twitter user expressed his disappointment at the way some Nigerians are jubilating over the death of Abba Kyari. 

Some Nigerians seemed not bothered about his death but rather critical of his antics while in government. 

A human rights activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju said that this should be a lesson to President Buhari as Nigerians will celebrate like some Nigerians are doing now if anything happens to him. 

A twitter user was sarcastic in his reaction to the death of kyari. He mentioned the names of individuals that he thought would be relieved that he is no more.

 Meanwhile, available information suggests that his body has arrived Defence Guest House Maitama, Abuja, as his burial is on-going in today.
