NSE continues slide for the second day running

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) fell for the second consecutive day this week. The All Share Index closed at 32,454.03 basis points, down 0.79%. Year to date, the index is down 15.14%

Top Gainers and Losers 

Diamond Bank was the best performing stock in today’s trading session. The stock closed at N1.24, up 5.08%. Cutix Plc was next with a 4.88% gain to close at N4.30. Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc closed at N14.50, up 4.32%.

Insurance stocks led the top 3 losers on the NSE today. On the flip side, Niger Insurance, was the worst performing stock today. The stock closed at N0.31. Mutual Benefits Plc closed at N0.26, down 7.14%. Sovereign Trust Insurance closed atN0.22, down 4.35%.

Top Trades by Volume  

The top three trades by volume were led by the banking stocks. FCMB was first with 38.3 million shares valued at N65.7 million traded in 116 deals. UBA traded 20.8 million shares valued at N172 million in 186 deals. 19.1 Fidelity bank shares valued N35.7 million were traded in 175 deals.
