Chart of the day: Bank’s E-payment transaction volume in 2017

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), a total volume of 1,488,660,101 transactions were recorded as data on electronic payment channels in the Nigeria Banking Sector in 2017.

Automated Teller Machine (ATM) transactions dominated the volume of transactions recorded during the period under review. A total of 800,549,099 volume of ATM transactions valued at N6,438 billion were recorded in 2017. The use of ATM card as a means of credit withdrawal among Nigerians from their bank accounts has continued to soar, since its introduction in the last decade.
