NCC Suspends Proposed Data Price Hike

The proposed hike in prices of data plans of the major telecommunication companies has been suspended by the Nigerian Communication Commission, Guardian reports.

The Commission had earlier put in place a floor price of N0.90 per MB which would have led to an increase in the price of data as from December 1.

The decision to suspend the move was taken after due consultation with industry stakeholders and the general complaints by consumers across the country, Tony Ojobo, NCC’s director of public affairs said in a statement.
