NCAA Orders Airlines To Compensate Passengers Over Flight Delays

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced compelling every airline both domestic and international, to pay in form of compensation to passengers for any flight delay

During the course of the delay, the airlines are to provide the passengers with refreshment as stipulated by the Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR).

According to records made available by the NCAA, more than 50% of flight operations between January and March this year were delayed.

The report states that domestic flights had 8, 478 delayed, while 281 flights were cancelled between January and March 2016.

According to our source, one major reason for flight delays or flight cancellations was because of the inability of these airlines to secure aviation fuel as at when due. This has brought about the loss of millions of naira in the economy.
