Africa’s biggest phone company, MTN Group Limited will contest a $3.9 billion Nigerian fine in a Lagos court after rectifying that the imposition of the sanction was not in accordance with the powers of the country’s telecommunications regulator.
The telecommunication giant was dealt a major blow in late October by the nigeria communications commission (NCC) over failure disconnect subscribers with unregistered Sim cards bought before January 2012.
