Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has attributed bad road network as the major reason for the recurrent fuel scarcity in Abuja and its environs.
PPMC’s Executive Director, Special Services, Mohammed Mustapha said this when the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum downstream visited the Suleja depot to ensure Nigerians have enough fuel during the yuletide season.
He said the trucks take 10-15 days to arrive from Lagos where most of its products come from. Even as the PPMC officials made efforts to give reasons, the committee members, advised them to face the issues, pointing out that their products ought to come from pipelines as its name implies.
The worry by the Lawmakers is the hardship Nigerians may face if they fail to address the issues moving, the PPMC has assure the committee that there will be adequate fuel supply during the festive period.
