- The Government of Lagos State is planning to buy a new helicopter for the state.
- It was gathered that the purchase of the new helicopter and other security gadget was pegged at N5.3bn in the budget re-ordering letter sent to the House of Assembly for approval.
- In the 2015 budget, the initial vote for security intervention was N1.5bn, but the governor is seeking the House’s approval for additional N3.8bn, making it N5.3bn to accommodate the purchase of the helicopter, among other “security interventions”.
- The Assembly on Tuesday had set up a committee to review the request and report back to the House in a week’s time
