There is an imminent increase in cargo handling and storage charges at the nation’s seaports by terminal operators.

Importers may soon have to pay more for terminal handling and storage services as private terminal operators have said current charges were too low to sustain their businesses and have asked for permission for an upward review of the charges.

Once a year, based on the inflation of last year, we have to increase our local charges exactly according to inflation. We don’t need to ask to be allowed to increase our charges. It should be allowed that every January 1, our Terminal Handling Charges and delivery should be identical to the yearly inflation per cent
