The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has put in place an anti-corruption fund to protect whistle blowers as the outgoing President Mr. Adedoyin Owolabi gives his final words.

Although the stipulated fund was not disclosed, but Owolabi at a media chat, said the bill will soon be sent to the National Assembly for onward check and approval.
According to him, “Nigerians are hard working, it is not every Nigerian that wants to be fraudulent and corrupt, but however, those who do it, do it to a criminal rate that there is so much noise about it and they dent the image of this nation.

“We have another category of Nigerians who are aware of what is going on but afraid that should they talk, something terrible may happen to them. So, we decided that the institute can help to support such people to sponsor this bill, as a private member bill on the floor of the National Assembly and they too can always feel protected to criticise corrupt officers without any bad thing happening to me.
