Imagine being exposed by your arch rival and fined as a result by regulatory authorities. That is what has just happened to Microsoft as the European Union (EU) fined the software giant a sum of Eur561million ($731million) for anti trust breaches relating to its web browser (internet explorer). Apparently, Microsoft had reached an agreement with regulators to give buyers of its operating software options to choose any browser they so wish on buying windows 7.

 

Usually, when you buy windows 7 Microsoft only gives you an initial option to use internet explorer instead of giving you other options such as Opera, Chrome, Safari etc. This error was allegedly exposed by Google and has now earned them this massive fine. See the rest of the story below
