NO MERCY? 63 YEAR OLD DUDE ARRAIGNED FOR ISSUING DUD CHEQUE

Have you ever issued or received a dud cheque in Nigeria? Have you thought of it as one of those things that can’t cause you harm? Then better think twice as issuance of dud cheques is actually a crime in Nigeria. Ngerian Daily Post reports a 63 year old man was arrainged for issuing a Dud Cheque being arrears for payment of rent in March 2012. The N2m cheque bounced and now the guys faces a count of fraud which is punishable under the section 319 (b) sub section 320 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2011.

The man’s lawyer claims its a Landord and Tenant matter and pleaded with the court to show mercy as his client is a diabetic patient. This shows how precarious his case his. Beware, don’t take the law for granted. Issuing Dud Cheques is a criminal offense and this serves as further evidence
