TRADE GRANT SCHEME
The federal government has disbursed the total sum of N27.2 billion within April and June 2024 (3 months) of the N50 billion grants earmarked for nano businesses under the trade grant initiative.
The Minister of Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has said that about 60% of the 1 million applicants have received the N50,000 of the trade grant scheme.
The federal government has disbursed N20.7 billion out of the N50 billion budgeted for the trade grant scheme intended for Nano businesses.
The federal government through the federal ministry of industry, trade and investment is yet to disburse the N50,000 trade grant to more than half of the eligible applicants which is about 500,000 Nigerians who applied for the scheme.
The federal government says it has resolved the technical problems related to the uploading of the National Identification Number (NIN) for participants in the presidential conditional grant programme, also known as the trade grant scheme.
